exciting opportunity for a confident Accounts Receivable Supervisor to join one of the
UK’s most trusted and innovative automotive retailers.
The Role
Are you a skilled Accounts Receivable professional with leadership experience? We are looking for a motivated Accounts Receivable Supervisor to lead and develop our team while ensuring the timely and efficient management of our accounts receivable processes.
In this key role, you will ensure that all accounting controls are maintained and that Marshall Accounting Policies are consistently adhered to. You will oversee the sales ledgers with a strong focus on eradicating aged debtors/creditors and managing payments on account. As a leader, you’ll support the recruitment, induction, and development of team members to achieve all accounts receivable objectives.
Who You Are
- Proven experience in an Accounts Receivable role, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to receivables and sales ledgers.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team to meet objectives.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and reducing aged debt.

What You’ll Do
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounts receivable clerks, providing guidance, training, and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Ensure the uniform and timely raising of sales invoices across all sites, strictly following company policies and procedures.
- Manage and resolve pricing queries from customers, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
- Regularly review and dispatch customer statements to ensure timely payments and reduce outstanding balances.
- Oversee the debt collection process, including following up on overdue invoices, negotiating payment terms, and escalating efforts when necessary.
- Handle customer claims and disputes efficiently, collaborating with internal teams to minimize financial impact and resolve issues quickly.
- Proactively monitor accounts receivable aging reports and manage overdue accounts to reduce debt.
- Maintain accurate records of customer payments, credits, and adjustments to ensure the integrity of accounts.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis on accounts receivable performance, presenting key insights to the wider accounting function.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements related to accounts receivable.
